Welcome to the city of Lleida, birthplace of the biochemical scientist Joan Oró (1923-2004) who, after first synthesizing Adenine (one of the nitrogenous bases of DNA and RNA), stated that “almost all molecules of the universe could create life”.

The city of Oró, who was in love with the stars and the universe, poses the scenario of the ISIH 8th International Conference that, under the motto “Where next for critical health studies? Advancing understandings of health and the future of health care”, opens the discussion with the health of people as source of life.
